Have you been lifting weights? Greetings, my fellow Christian warriors. "Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. (Hebrews 12:1). My friend, has this past week brought on a challenge or challenges that at first glance or second glance your challenge feels like an albatross around your neck? A weight so heavy that you are not sure how it shall be resolved, a weight that may possibly have been a carryover from last week, last year, something that might give a person a spiritual hernia can at its best be turned over to God. Tell the Lord about it. We all need to take our burdens to the Lord and leave them there; as a spiritual song says. We're truly not designed to carry such a load. The devil will attempt to trick us into believing that we're "just concerned" when in reality we may be worried. The Bible says for us to not be anxious for anything, but by prayer and supplications with thanksgiving, tell the Lord about it. The reward for letting go of unnecessary weight is the peace of God that passes up everybody's understanding will keep our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. God's peace is such a comforting soothing thought, and we get to have it and keep it. However, this concept is based on our being able to release our baggage, our weights so to speak. The Lord is waiting on us to remember or rather never forget that He has provided an outlet. We can let go of any unnecessary weight, and trust that the Lord will get us through life's race. As children of God, we are more than a conqueror and we have got the power!
