Byron Williams obeyed the gospel on June 12, 1977 in Chicago, Illinois at the 79th St. Church of Christ where he was actively involved in their leadership development program. Shortly after this tutelage, in 1980 he began teaching Bible classes. After high school, Byron attended Prairie View A & M University and graduated in 1987 with a bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering. While attending Prairie View, Byron was instrumental in the design and construction of the Church’s edifice located in Prairie View. Byron’s servant’s mentality was really cultivated by God in the various ministries he helped to develop while attending Prairie View. Byron was instrumental in teaching many individuals the gospel and all glory belongs to God. Upon graduation, Byron married (Yvette) and God sent them to Louisiana where he worked with the Franklin St. Church of Christ for fourteen years. While there, he continued to gain valuable servanthood leadership experience in his many different assignments. God also added to their union two beautiful daughters (Meagen & Ashley). God then moved him and his family to London England where he served in another serventhood leadership capacity at the Wimbledon Church of Christ for 2 years. In 2002, God moved Byron and his family to Houston, Texas and by his divine guidance they placed their membership at the Highland Heights Church of Christ where he currently serves as one of the Elders. Because of God’s goodness, Byron Williams has worked for ExxonMobil for over 21 years in various engineering, supervisory and managerial assignments. He has worked in several locations, both domestically and internationally, which includes New Orleans, Houston, London England and West Africa. Byron currently serves as the OBO planning/ coordination manager where he provides ExxonMobil leadership and representation on several major projects which will culminate in Nigeria’s deepwater.
Byron has been blessed to have served on various committees and boards which includes: ●Board President for the Coastland Credit Union in New Orleans ●Exxonmobil NSBE(National Society of Black Engineers) Team Captain ●NSBE's Board of Corporate Affiliates (BCA) ●NACME Alumni Scholar ●A member of ExxonMobil Diversity Recruiting Committee where God has allowed him to impact ExxonMobil with various diversity related opportunities and initiatives. Byron has been married to Yvette for over 21 and they have two daughters, Meagen (19) and Ashley (17) who are faithful to the Lord.
His hobbies and personal interests include studying the Bible, playing basketball, and spending time with his family.
