What We Believe
"We will neither be liberal nor conservative, but scriptural. We do bible things in bible ways."
We believe in the God of heaven who is the one and only Almighty God (Deuteronomy 6:4) and Creator of the universe (Isaiah 45:18; Hebrew 1:10). He has manifested (revealed) Himself to us through His Son Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and His Word (John 16:28). This same God has authorized His Son, Jesus Christ, to build the one church (Matt. 16:18) to which those who would be saved must be added (Acts 2:47; Acts 2:1-41). It was established on the Day of Pentecost A.D. 33 in Jerusalem.
We believe the bible is true to every word (John 17:17; Psalms 19:7). It teaches that one becomes a Christian after he or she has completed the steps that Christ taught the apostles to teach as His doctrine for gaining membership into the church. This message speaks of the gospel, the good news that Christ loved us so much that he died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and was resurrected from the grave and ascended to heaven to never die again by the power of God the Father (I Corinthians 15:1-4).
When this gospel is obeyed from the heart (Romans 6:17), it puts one into Christ (Galatians 3:27). For hearing (Acts 15:7), believing (Acts 15:7), repenting (Luke 13:3,5), confessing Christ as the Son of God (Acts 8:35-37), and being baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38; Galatians 3:26,27) completes one's obedience to that form of doctrine and places one into the church of Christ (Acts 2:47) for which He will return to claim on the last day (Romans 6:17,18).
Living faithfully in dutiful service to God for the balance of life gains the crown of life in the heavenly kingdom forever (Revelation 2:10). We believe that you can find your place in God's kingdom with us, and we invite you to serve with a very special family of God's people here at the Church of Christ in Highland Heights.
